John Allison
John joined the firm (pre- merger) of Cassam & Battrick shortly after he qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and was made Partner in 1999. John left the Firm in 2001 to widen his experience and contact base. After 14 years building and managing a volume residential conveyancing department servicing all areas of England and Wales, John returned in April 2015 and his wealth of experience and qualifications makes the Firms already well renowned property departments one of the most respected in the country.
John became a partner of the practice in January 2016.
Ryan Greenhough
LLB Hons 2.1 degree from Nottingham Trent University and articles in Cardiff in general Practice but specialising in commercial property. I joined Cassam and Battrick in 1997 and was made a partner in 2003.
I specialise in all aspects of commercial and residential property and property dispute resolution. I manage the practices busy Property Department and run the Albany Road office.
Elsa-Marie Escorcio
Elsa is an Associate Legal Executive who has experience working in her chosen field of conveyancing and deals with all areas of residential conveyancing including leasehold properties, new build transactions, re-mortgages, right to buy schemes and transfer of equity cases and in the preparation of Wills.
Sarah Farrell
Sarah studied Law at the Leeds University and graduated in 2004. She undertook the Legal Practice Course in Cardiff University before undertaking her Training Contract and qualifying as a solicitor in 2008.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2013 and deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including leasehold transactions, new build, re-mortgages, and transfer of equity cases.
Rachel Hughes-Lewis
Rachel is a very experienced Chartered Legal Executive (F.Cilex) who started her legal career as a secretary some 25 years ago, and now has over 20 years experience in her chosen field of conveyancing, dealing with all areas of residential conveyancing, including re-mortgages, leasehold transactions, equity release and transfers of equity.
Benjamin Eaton
Benjamin began working in the Conveyancing field in 2014 as a paralegal in a small law practice in Essex, after graduating from University. Whilst gaining experience on the job, Benjamin undertook several self-study CILEx courses and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx) in early 2018. During his studies, Benjamin took on more responsibilities as a case-handler, and in 2018 took on the role of managing his own team and eventually overseeing the Residential Conveyancing department.
Benjamin relocated to South Wales in March 2019 and has been with Spicketts Battrick ever since. Benjamin has a wide-range of experience in most aspects of residential conveyancing including sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties, assents, transfers of equity and remortgages. Benjamin is also familiar with the more complex areas which may arise during a transaction, such as unregistered land, new build properties as well as Help to Buy ISAs and the Help to Buy Charge Scheme.
Samantha Cavender
Samantha graduated from Swansea University in 2010 with a 2:1 Law Degree. The following year she completed the Legal Practice Course and passed with commendation. Just a month after passing, Samantha started her legal career as an assistant in a law firm in the South Wales valleys, soon she was working from the head office in Newport and offered a training contract. Samantha began her training in January 2012 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2014.
Samantha was head hunted to join Robertsons Solicitors in 2015 where she stayed for 5 years. Within that time, Samantha worked in the new build department for a national developer, selling plots and buying and selling part exchange properties and then went on to become head of the residential conveyancing department.
Samantha has a wide range of knowledge and deals with all aspects of conveyancing including freehold, leasehold, commonhold, re-mortgages and indeed, the more complex areas such as staircasing, new build properties, adverse possession claims, transfers of equity and shared equity cases, to list just a few!
Samantha prides herself on being friendly, efficient and empathetic and focuses on the needs of each individual client.
In her spare time Samantha does some fundraising for charities; in the last couple of years, Samantha has run 100 miles in a month for Teenage Cancer Trust, run 3 marathons in 30 days for Mind, a bake sale of over 240 cupcakes for Alzheimer’s Society and any other fundraising she can get involved with. Samantha loves to see the world, whether that be hopping on a plane or hiking across the South Wales valleys.
Sarah Tyrrell
Sarah started her career in Conveyancing in 1986 and has worked in both the Cardiff and Barry areas of South Wales. Sarah worked in Spicketts Battrick 10 years ago recently returning back to the Spicketts and Battrick team dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing including transfers of equity, purchases, sales and re-mortgages.
Sharon Fitzpatrick
Sharon is one of our most experienced and senior Conveyancers. She started her career with Howells Solicitors in 1980 as a Secretary and progressed to a Conveyancer.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2005 and deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including leasehold, new build, remortgages, right to buy schemes and transfer of equity cases. She also deals with preparation of Wills and Power of Attorney's.
Marie Lewis
Marie started her legal career as a secretary 25 years ago and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2005.
Marie joined Spicketts Battrick in April 2016
Marie's work consists of all aspects of residential conveyancing including new builds, Help to Buy Schemes, re-mortgages, leaseholds and purchase of freehold reversions.
Carys Davies
Carys qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2011 before joining the Practice in 2013. She has over fifteen years experience working in the legal sector.
Her work includes all types of residential conveyancing such as new build conveyancing, sales/purchases of Freehold/Leasehold transactions, acquisitions of Freehold reversions and transfers of equity.
Carys also handles deeds of gifts and re-mortgages in addition to dealing with Wills, Probate and Court of Protection matters.
Lisa Lake
Lisa is a very experienced Conveyancer, starting her career as a legal secretary with Loosemores Solicitors in 1983, before progressing to the role of Conveyancer, working mostly in the Vale of Glamorgan.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2018 and undertakes all aspects of residential conveyancing, covering both England and Wales.
Lucy Jones
Lucy graduated from Glamorgan university in 2012 with a 2:1 Law Degree and completed the Legal Practice Course. She started her legal career as a file opener working for large conveyancing firms in Cardiff since 2013 in which she progressed to running her own caseload. Lucy joined Spicketts Battrick in 2017 as a Conveyancing assistant and qualified as a Solicitor in 2023. Lucy deals with her own caseload dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing.
Samantha Manuel
Sam started her legal career in 2003 and has gained a wealth of experience of working within the Residential Property sector, having progressed from Legal Assistant to Conveyancer. Having originally joined Spicketts Battrick back in January 2016, Sam returned in September 2021, after a brief period in another high street firm, Undertaking all aspects of Conveyancing work, Sam specialises in residential sales, purchases, transfers of equity and remortgage and has a range of expertise in dealing with small to large value transactions. She prides herself on being approachable, efficient and transparent in order to make clients feel as comfortable as possible during their conveyancing transaction. In her spare time Sam enjoys travelling, reading and walks in the countryside as well as spending time with her family and friends. In October 2018, Sam completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Nikita Shadrach
Nikita studied Law at Swansea University and then went on to study the Legal Practice Course in 2016. Nikita’s experience within the legal sector first began in 2017 as a paralegal before undertaking her Training Contract. Nikita was then admitted as a solicitor in 2021 before joining the firm shortly after.
Nikita has experience working in various high-pressure environments and is a competent individual running her own case load. Nikita deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including freehold, leasehold and unregistered sale and purchase transactions.
Nikita is a fluent welsh speaker.
