Richard attended Guilford Law School in 1981/1982 and then carried out his articles in Dolmans Solicitors of Cardiff qualifying as a Solicitor in 1984.
In June 1986 Richard set up a practice known as Cassam and Battrick which practised under this name until the firm merged with Spicketts in January 2006. He is the Managing/Senior Partner of this practice however his background is predominantly property based.
LLB Hons 2.1 degree from Nottingham Trent University and articles in Cardiff in general Practice but specialising in commercial property. I joined Cassam and Battrick in 1997 and was made a partner in 2003.
I specialise in all aspects of commercial and residential property and property dispute resolution. I manage the practices busy Property Department and run the Albany Road office.
John joined the firm (pre- merger) of Cassam & Battrick shortly after he qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and was made Partner in 1999. John left the Firm in 2001 to widen his experience and contact base. After 14 years building and managing a volume residential conveyancing department servicing all areas of England and Wales, John returned in April 2015 and his wealth of experience and qualifications makes the Firms already well renowned property departments one of the most respected in the country.
John became a partner of the practice in January 2016.
Elsa is an Associate Legal Executive who has experience working in her chosen field of conveyancing and deals with all areas of residential conveyancing including leasehold properties, new build transactions, re-mortgages, right to buy schemes and transfer of equity cases and in the preparation of Wills.
Sharon is currently undergoing training as a Licensed Conveyancer. She started her career with Howells Solicitors in 1980 as a Secretary and progressed to a Conveyancer.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2005 and deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including leasehold, new build, remortgages, right to buy schemes and transfer of equity cases. She also deals with preparation of Wills and Power of Attorney's.
Marie started her legal career as a secretary 25 years ago and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2005.
Marie joined Spicketts Battrick in April 2016
Marie's work consists of all aspects of residential conveyancing including new builds, Help to Buy Schemes, re-mortgages, leaseholds and purchase of freehold reversions.
Karen trained in the legal department of Rhymney Valley District Council in the early 1980's and has 30 years experience covering all aspects of residential conveyancing.
Natalie graduated from Swansea University in 2011 with a 2:1 Law Degree and has recently completed the Legal Practice Course. She started her legal career as an assistant in the conveyancing department of Runnettt and Co 4 years ago and has previously worked at Howells Solicitors in Swansea.
Jason is currently undergoing training as a Licensed Conveyancer. He started his career in 2008 within another firm of solicitors and has now progressed to handling his own case load.
Jason joined Spicketts Battrick in 2013 and deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing.
Michelle started her legal career as a secretary in the Criminal and Conveyancing department 22 years ago.
She progressed to the role of Conveyancer and has been undertaking all aspects of residential conveyancing.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2013 and undertakes right to buy, re-mortgages, leasehold transactions and transfers of equity.
Sarah studied Law at the Leeds University and graduated in 2004. She undertook the Legal Practice Course in Cardiff University before undertaking her Training Contract and qualifying as a solicitor in 2008.

Rachel is a very experienced Chartered Legal Executive (F.Cilex) who started her legal career as a secretary some 25 years ago, and now has many years experience in her chosen field of conveyancing, dealing with all areas of residential conveyancing, including re-mortgages, leasehold transactions, equity release and transfers of equity.
Carys qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2011 before joining the Practice in 2013. She has over ten years experience working in the legal sector.
Her work includes all types of residential conveyancing such as new build conveyancing, sales/purchases of Freehold/Leasehold transactions, acquisitions of Freehold reversions and transfers of equity.
Carys also handles deeds of gifts and re-mortgages in addition to dealing with Wills, Probate and Court of Protection matters.
Sinyee studied at University of South Wales completing a law degree and the legal practice course.
Sinyee qualified as a solicitor in April 2016 having trained with a local firm of solicitors and joined Spicketts Battrick February 2016 specialising in residential conveyancing.
Vicki is a Chartered Legal Executive.
For over 20 years she has worked in the South Wales area for private and corporate clients on a local and nationwide basis.
Vicki specialises in residential conveyancing with experience in all areas including sales and purchases, plot sales, shared equity and shared ownership, right to buy, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
June is a chartered legal executive with over 16 years conveyancing experience. June completed her legal training with Morgan Cole solicitors in Cardiff where she joined the firm in 2000 from a financial background as a credit controller, she then moved to the conveyancing team as a legal assistant in 2003. June soon had her own caseload and qualified as a legal executive in October 2005. June was admitted as a fellow of the institute of legal executives in February 2006. June has experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing sales and purchases, including shared ownership, leasehold, new build, and lease extensions. June joined Spicketts Battrick in January 2019.
Phillippa started as a legal assistant in 2002 and gained experience in all areas of residential conveyancing including sales, purchases, remortgages, freehold and leasehold transactions, shared ownership and help to buy. She became a conveyancer after completing in house training with a local firm and started handling her own case load.
Phillippa joined Spicketts Battrick in January 2017.
Lisa is a very experienced Conveyancer, starting her career as a legal secretary with Loosemores Solicitors in 1983, before progressing to the role of Conveyancer, working mostly in the Vale of Glamorgan.
She joined Spicketts Battrick in 2018 and undertakes all aspects of residential conveyancing, covering both England and Wales.
Sam started her legal career in 2003 and has over 10 years experience of working within the Conveyancing sector, having progressed from Legal Assistant to Conveyancer.
Sam joined Spicketts Battrick in January 2016 and undertakes all aspects of Conveyancing work, specialising in residential sales and purchases. Sam acts for both seller and buyer in residential property transactions with a range of expertise from small to large value transactions. She has a varied caseload that includes acting for both lenders and borrowers on residential property and re-mortgage transactions.
Sam prides herself on being approachable, efficient and transparent in order to make clients feel as comfortable as possible during their conveyancing transaction.
In her spare time Sam enjoys travelling, reading and long walks in the countryside. In October 2018, Sam completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Matthew studied at Bangor University and obtained his LL.B (Hons) degree in 2014. He started his career as an assistant in residential conveyancing for a high volume practice in Bridgend.
Matthew joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice in 2017 and is currently handling his own caseload, comprising of transactions such as leaseholds, re-mortgages, transfer of part and freehold reversions. Matthew is a fluent Welsh speaker and is currently undergoing his final year of CILEX.
Charlotte studied at Swansea University completing a law degree followed by the Legal Practice Course. She joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice in November 2013 as part of the residential conveyancing department and has over 5 years of experience in this area.
Charlotte qualified as a Solicitor in July 2017. Charlotte is a fluent welsh speaker.
Stephanie graduated from the University of South Wales in July 2016 with a first class masters degree in legal practice. She went on to secure a training contract with a local high street firm before qualifying as a Solicitor in March 2019.
Stephanie joined Spicketts Battrick in May 2019 and deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including leasehold , new build, re-mortgages, and transfer of equity transactions.
Kathryn started as a receptionist/legal secretary for a small private firm during 2002. After finding an interest in conveyancing, Kathryn undertook the CLC course at college during the evenings, whilst continuing to gain practical experience at a large national conveyancing firm. Kathryn qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2008.
Since qualifying, Kathryn has gained experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing, including sale and purchase of Freehold/Leasehold property, unregistered property, new build transactions, re-mortgage, transfer of equity and redemption of Help to Buy Charges.
Kathryn joined Spicketts Battrick in April 2018.
Benjamin began working in the Conveyancing field in 2014 as a paralegal in a small law practice in Essex, after graduating from University. Whilst gaining experience on the job, Benjamin undertook several self-study CILEx courses and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEx) in early 2018. During his studies, Benjamin took on more responsibilities as a case-handler, and in 2018 took on the role of managing his own team and eventually overseeing the Residential Conveyancing department.
Benjamin relocated to South Wales in March 2019 and has been with Spicketts Battrick ever since. Benjamin has a wide-range of experience in most aspects of residential conveyancing including sales and purchases of both freehold and leasehold properties, assents, transfers of equity and remortgages. Benjamin is also familiar with the more complex areas which may arise during a transaction, such as unregistered land, new build properties as well as Help to Buy ISAs and the Help to Buy Charge Scheme.
Geraldine trained at a High Street Practice and has over 15 years experience in dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing including sales, purchases, new build, shared equity, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
