Katharine Jones

Katharine Jones Katharine attended Hull University and qualified as a Solicitor in 1987. She gained broad experience in many areas of legal practice working in High Street firms and joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice in 2013.

Katharine now specialises in Wills, Probate and Estate Administration, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection and Property matters. Her practical and methodical approach to matters ensures that clients get sound advice on all options open to them to ensure that tax savings and costs savings are maximized.

Joanne always aspired to work in the Legal profession and completed her studies in Law at the University of Glamorgan, subsequently qualifying and being admitted as a solicitor in 2007.  Having gained her experience initially in the conveyancing field in a High Street Practice she moved to work as a in-house lawyer in one of the UK’s first Alternative Business Structures and gained experience in the field of Probate and Estate Administration.  Joanne first joined Spicketts in 2015 and worked for the firm in the Residential Conveyancing Department dealing with High Volume Residential Conveyancing before moving to a Head of Department role in a firm dealing with both Private Client and Conveyancing matters.  Having been head hunted to return to the Alternative Business Structure back in 2021 in a management role Joanne gained significant experience back in the Private Client field before re-joining Spicketts in September 2023 in our Private Client team.

Joanne specialises in all types of private client matters including Wills, Probate and Estate Administration, Court of Protection and Deputyship work, Powers of Attorney and Property matters.  This type of work involves a wide range of issues, such as multiple property, foreign assets, lifetime tax planning and gifting.   With Joanne’s wider experience she can give a holistic approach to each case and can identify when further advice or action is recommended.  Joanne says it’s a privilege to be trusted to help people at time when they are considering their futures and what will happen falling their passing and also helping family members and friends of a deceased loved one.  Joanne finds dealing with such a sensitive process at a time that can be most challenging for families rewarding.  She aims to always ease the client of the burden of the whole process and make it as stress free as possible.  Joanne particularly enjoys helping clients come to grips with what is often very unfamiliar legal affairs and finds that straightforward practical help makes such a difference to clients.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoys spending time with her family, walking, travelling and experiencing different Countries and Cultures.
